Damn! For weeks we’ve been hoping for a tropical storm in the Gulf of Mexico that would propel some serious rain into north Texas, but once again we’re getting the short end of the stick. As I write this post there’s a huge storm system spinning in the Gulf and — naturally — Weather.com predicts the highest threat level along the coast in Louisiana and NO RAIN WHATSOEVER drifting north toward the Dallas/Fort Worth area. For your possible interest I’ve indicated Howdygram headquarters with a green asterisk. A very, very DRY green asterisk. The drought goes on.
The only real PLUS is, starting Monday our daytime temperatures will take a significant drop into the low 90s, which is 15° cooler than a week ago and exciting enough to make a person shop for mittens.
Before I forget, I’d like to wish y’all a pleasant and happy September, which is the ideal month to start shopping for Halloween and commemorate the truly special events listed below.
- Labor Day 9/5
- Sam and Marcy’s wedding anniversary 9/10
- First birthday of Marcy’s new teeth 9/16
- Punctuation Day/Take An Apostrophe To Lunch Day 9/24
- Rosh Hashana 9/28
