Prehistoric flying reptiles, lots of bombs and exploding mountains.

I forgot to include a tidbit in my last post … a quick review of Rodan, that classic Japanese monster movie from 1957 featuring volcanoes, bombs, exploding mountains, thousands of people screaming in the streets, enormous prehistoric reptiles flying at twice the speed of sound and plenty of hilarious dubbed dialog guaranteed to make you think of Woody Allen’s What’s Up Tiger Lily. (You remember Phil Moskowitz, don’t you?)
Rodan was actually a very impressive and enjoyable effort for the 1950s ... a big-budget hoo-hah filmed in Technicolor with a huge cast — the entire population of Japan! — and innovative special effects. I even liked the flying reptiles. A video clip of the original movie trailer appears below.
