We did it. We went to Macy’s today and bought ourselves some new family room furniture! It was quite an adventure for me, since this marked my first visit to a mall in THREE YEARS due to a variety of mobility issues. I’m sure Sam will concur that I bounced back beautifully and shlepped myself all over Macy’s 10,000 square foot showroom like a seasoned professional. (Translation: I actually tried to buy everything in sight.)
Our store of choice was Macy’s at Collin Creek Mall in Plano because they have the largest furniture department of all the Macy’s stores in the Dallas metro area. The helpful map below indicates: A) our house in Mesquite; and B) Collin Creek Mall. If you zoom in I’m the one waving my cane just south of I-30.
Here’s what Macy’s will deliver on Thursday, November 10 …
For those of you who care, we wound up with sectional #5 from the post I wrote yesterday except in a slightly lighter color — “stone” — and the fabric is microsuede. We also bought an oversized leather contoured chaise for Sam that’s part heaven, part dentist’s chair. This baby is HUGE. And since everything was on sale we spent $700 LESS than the order we canceled last week at Haverty’s. This made me so deliriously happy I bought us dim sum for lunch at Hong Kong Royal even though we didn’t actually get there until 3 p.m.
First thing Monday I’ll call the Salvation Army and arrange for them to haul away our old furniture — two identical 90-inch leather sofas and a nice end table — unless there’s a deprived Howdygram fan who wants to send me an email and stake a claim. But don’t horse around if you’re interested because time is running out.
Thank you for reading this.
