Maybe the next special committee will investigate dinosaurs on Noah’s Ark.

In this post: Benghazi.

It’s been my fondest wish for quite some to do an all-Benghazi post for the Howdygram, and this, my friends, is it!

In a statement yesterday Speaker of the House John Boehner called for yet another investigation into the Republican-promoted “travesty” of a 2012 attack on the U.S. diplomatic outpost in Libya. Boehner said: “Americans learned this week that the Obama administration is so intent on obstructing the truth about Benghazi that it is even willing to defy subpoenas issued by the standing committees of the people’s House. These revelations compel the House to take every possible action to ensure the American people have the truth about the terrorist attack on our consulate that killed four of our countrymen.”

I guess when Benghazi is all you’ve got, it has to be Benghazi all day, every day. Maybe the next special committee can investigate dinosaurs on Noah’s Ark for a change. But I digress.

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) got so excited about another Benghazi investigation that he referred to President Obama as “the scumbag in the White House who lied about this.” And Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA), who blocked every inquiry on Bush and Cheney for myriad security failures and 13 embassy attacks during their two terms in office, is so obsessed with every detail of Benghazi that he’s already subpoenaed Secretary of State John Kerry.
In case you need a quick refresher on the Bush/Cheney administration, here’s a summary of the endless crap we endured AND REPUBLICANS REFUSED TO INVESTIGATE:

SEPTEMBER 11, 2001. New York, New York. Terrorists attack the World Trade Center. Three thousand are killed. There is $10 billion in property damage.
JANUARY 22, 2002. Calcutta, India. Gunmen attack the U.S. Consulate. Five people are killed.

JUNE 14, 2002. Karachi, Pakistan. Suicide bomber attacks the U.S. Consulate, killing 12 and injuring 51.

OCTOBER 12, 2002. Denpasar, Indonesia. U.S. diplomatic offices bombed as part of a string of “Bali Bombings.” No fatalities.

FEBRUARY 28, 2003. Islamabad, Pakistan. Gunmen fire on the U.S. Embassy. Two people are killed.

MAY 12, 2003. Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Armed terrorists storm the diplomatic compound, killing 36 people including nine Americans. The assailants commit suicide by detonating a truck bomb.

JULY 30, 2004. Tashkent, Uzbekistan. A suicide bomber attacks the U.S. Embassy, killing two.

DECEMBER 6, 2004. Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Al Qaeda terrorists storm the U.S. Consulate and occupy the perimeter wall. Nine people are killed.
MARCH 2, 2006. Karachi, Pakistan again. Suicide bomber attacks the U.S. Consulate killing four people including U.S. diplomat David Foy, who was directly targeted. (I wonder if Lindsey Graham would even recognize David Foy’s name. This is the third Karachi terrorist attack in four years on what’s considered American soil.)

SEPTEMBER 12, 2006. Damascus, Syria. Four armed gunmen storm the U.S. Embassy using grenades, automatic weapons, a car bomb and a truck bomb. Four people are killed, 13 are wounded.

JANUARY 12, 2007. Athens, Greece. Members of a Greek terrorist group fire a rocket-propelled grenade at the U.S. Embassy. No fatalities.

MARCH 18, 2008. Sana’a, Yemen. Members of the Islamic Jihad of Yemen fire a mortar at the U.S. Embassy. The shot misses the embassy but hits a nearby school, killing two.

JULY 9, 2008. Istanbul, Turkey. Four armed terrorists attack the U.S. Consulate. Six people are killed.

SEPTEMBER 17, 2008. Sana’a, Yemen. Terrorists attack the U.S. Embassy with an arsenal of weapons and detonate two car bombs killing 16 people, including a newlywed American student and her husband. This is the second attack on this embassy in seven months.

This horseshit is giving me a headache. Anybody who wants gefilte fish for lunch, raise your hand!
