Hey, boys and girls ... did you ever see the movie Cool Runnings? It’s Disney’s adorable film — a true story! — from 1993 about the Jamaican bobsled team at the ’88 Winter Olympics in Calgary. The theatrical trailer appears below for your possible interest. (Sam and I love this movie.)
In case you’re wondering why I’ve bothered to mention this, after a 12-year absence from the Olympics a financially-strapped two-man Jamaican bobsled team just qualified to compete at the Winter Games next month in Sochi, Russia. Although Olympic organizers finally voted to cover the team’s travel expenses, THEY STILL NEED HELP TO PAY FOR THEIR EQUIPMENT.
