We’re experiencing a lovely blast of early spring.

In this post: Flu fatalities continue, spring in Dallas, lobstermania.

I’d like to begin this post with a swine flu update, okay? There were SEVEN MORE FATALITIES yesterday in Dallas County, bringing our current total to 26. Nearly all of these are teens and healthy younger adults … NOT infants, senior citizens or people with crappy immune systems, who are usually the high-risk groups. Personally, I really don’t worry about getting swine flu for a couple of very good reasons: 1) I had a flu shot in November; and 2) I never leave the house.

The five-day forecast pictured below — prepared by the lying sacks of poo at Weather.com — clearly illustrates that the Dallas metro area is experiencing a lovely blast of early spring even though it’s the second week of January and those of you in less-fortunate geographical locations are still hip-deep in snow.
Sam and I plan to enjoy our warm and sunny Saturday with a nice drive to Addison for an early dinner at Lefty’s Lobster and Chowder House, home of the 18-oz. lobster tail. WE LOVE THIS PLACE. The first time we ate at Lefty’s was back in May 2007, the day we bought Howdygram headquarters and decided to celebrate with a shellfish brouhaha. We’ve been back two or three times since then for a variety of happy occasions. Today’s excuse? Beautiful weather. Also, SAM DOESN’T HAVE TO WORK. Glorioski, people!
Know what? It’s barely 7:30 in the morning so I think I should go back to bed for a while to pester Sam and keep him company. Plus I’m tired. Thank you for reading this.
