Visions of Hunan shrimp, chocolate marshmallow pumpkins and Bill Clinton.

In this post: Food fantasies, Howdygram format change, weather report.

It’s 9:45 in the morning and I’m hungry. This really doesn’t surprise me, however, because I was hungry when I went to bed last night, too. Around 1 a.m. I started fantasizing about all the fabulous food I wanted to eat as soon as possible, including egg rolls, cheesecake, mozzarella sticks, salmon patties, Hunan shrimp (extra spicy with no baby corn) from China City, pot roast, chicken salad with diced-up celery, mashed potatoes and Russell Stover chocolate marshmallow pumpkins. Then I fell asleep and had a dream about Bill Clinton. (Don’t ask.)

Sam got home from work at 5 a.m. again. I’ll be he’s hungry, too.

By now I’ll bet you’ve noticed my latest Howdygram format change. Starting today I’d like to use a “jump” feature in every post, which involves adding a link after the first paragraph or image — i.e., “more” or “keep reading” — so I’ll have space for a greater number of posts and headlines on the main page of the blog. Most bloggers use a jump feature, but if you absolutely HATE this please let me know. Thank you.

We’re expecting a COLD FRONT in the Dallas area. It’s not exactly winter — check out the blizzard forecast for tomorrow in South Dakota! — but a nice, refreshing change from all the sweaty 90s we’ve had around here for the last few weeks. Saturday’s high will be only 70° with a pathetic chance of rain and overnight the temperature will drop to 51°. I think the last time we had weather this cold was probably back in March. Where the hell did I put my mittens.
